Learn to Play Hockey for Women
Beginner and Intermediate Groups Available
High School Ages and Up
This program teaches the basics of hockey to women who are beginners or recreational skaters. A beginners and intermediate level of instuction are available.. Each group receives 50 minutes of instruction per week for 10 weeks.
Players start in the beginner level and advance to the intermediate level. Instruction at the beginner level focuses on the basics of skating and stick skills. Team play concepts are introduced to intermediate level players, and we hope to schedule one or two games per session. Please note these games include an additional fee.
About Coach Stacy Butera
Stacy Butera has been playing competitive hockey since age four. She has won 3 PAHL championships with the Amateur Penguins, and was captain of the team 1998-2000. Now playing again with Central Pittsburgh, she has continued her winning ways, helping the team win two consecutive championships. Stacy also helped Central Pittsburgh to the National Championships in 2006. Stacy is a USA Hockey Level 2 certified coach, who is looking forward to passing along her knowledge about the game.
Stacy is currently in school for IT Administration at Pittsburgh Technical Institute.
